Sarsfields take on Maynooth in the Intermediate A hurling final on Sunday next (Oct 2nd) at 2 pm.
Denis Laharts men will contest their third final in as many years in successive grades. Naas were the opponents in 2009 in the Junior final while Broadford were accounted for in the intermediate B final in 2010.
Sarsfields have been in good form all year with a fine league campaign being ended at the semi-final stage by Ardclough. Indeed the 'clough have been something of a bogey team as they also beat the Sash in the group stages of the championship.
Sarsfields and Maynooth have already met twice this year. The teams drew the league encounter in the university town before Sarsfields had a comfortable enough win when the sides met in the first round of the championship on Donore on August 11th.

Naas were also dispatched in the group stages

Sarsfields have every right to feel confident going into this final even though they will be missing a number of regulars on the big day for various reasons.
To jump from Junior to Senior ranks in three years would be an incredible achievement and it should not be understated.
After a disappointing year for the adult football teams in the club, it would be nice to see a bit of silverware back in the clubhouse on Sunday evening.
Please come along and support the lads in St. Conleths on Sunday ...
